MOBILITY ROADMAP

The IntelliDrive^SM Mobility Research Plan is currently under development. Goals of the Mobility research are:

• Capture complete, real-time information on all roads and all modes to support transformational system performance.

  A key goal is to develop a technology framework that enables integration of real-time data from all sources (vehicles, mobile devices, infrastructure) for use in transportation management and performance measurement.

• Achieve transformational transportation management and system performance through vehicle and infrastructure connectivity.

  Researchers will create applications and strategies using real-time mobility and cost data to ensure the safe, efficient, and secure movement of people and goods, and for dynamic decision-making by transportation users.

• Realize “Next Generation” electronic payment systems that support transformational system performance.

  Researchers will analyze national and state transportation funding options, and identify potential synergies with technologies supporting ITS safety and mobility goals.
